𝐂𝐀𝐋𝐋 𝐅𝐎𝐑 𝐏𝐎𝐄𝐌𝐒—The Venice Biennale’s first-ever Latin American curator Adriano Pedrosa has recently revealed the concept of the 2024 exhibition: “Foreigners Everywhere”. It will explore “the notion of the foreigner, and center its focus on those on the margins, namely exiles, émigrés, and outsiders.”
In Issue 74 of Hong Kong-based 聲韻詩刊 Voice & Verse Poetry Magazine, there will be an English-language section on “Outsiders”, broadly defined. We encourage poets and translators from all over the world to submit their poetry and translations on this theme.
Previously unpublished poems written in English or newly translated into English on “Outsiders” can be sent to swpoetry@gmail.com before Monday 31 July 2023 with the subject line “VV: Outsiders: [your initials]” for consideration. Each poet can submit up to two poems (please do not send us PDFs). Editor of the section: Tammy Lai-Ming Ho. Early submissions are recommended as the accepted pieces will be announced on a rolling basis.
Only poets whose work is accepted will be notified. If you do not get a response within two weeks, please assume that your work has not been selected for publication.
