𝐂𝐀𝐋𝐋 𝐅𝐎𝐑 𝐏𝐎𝐄𝐌𝐒—聲韻詩刊 Voice & Verse Poetry Magazine, a Hong Kong-based bilingual (Chinese and English) print publication, invites poets and translators worldwide to submit original English-language poems and poems newly translated into English for our upcoming issue themed 𝗥𝗘𝗣𝗔𝗥𝗔𝗧𝗜𝗢𝗡.
In an age of reckoning—with histories unearthed, voices rising, and justice demanded—we seek work that reflects, reimagines, and responds. What does it mean to mend, restore, or make whole in today’s fractured world? We welcome bold, tender, and inventive takes on personal, political, and planetary reparations, and encourage diverse and imaginative interpretations of this urgent theme. 𝗖𝗹𝗼𝘀𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗱𝗮𝘁𝗲: Friday 1 August 2025. Early submissions are preferred, as we may close the submission window once we have received a sufficient number of quality works.
𝗘𝗹𝗶𝗴𝗶𝗯𝗶𝗹𝗶𝘁𝘆: Previously unpublished poems written in English or newly translated into English.
𝗦𝘂𝗯𝗺𝗶𝘀𝘀𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗟𝗶𝗺𝗶𝘁: Up to two poems per poet/translator.
𝗙𝗼𝗿𝗺𝗮𝘁: Please send your poems as Word documents (no PDFs).
𝗛𝗼𝘄 𝘁𝗼 𝗦𝘂𝗯𝗺𝗶𝘁: Email your submissions to swpoetry@gmail.com with the subject line “VV: Reparation: [Your Initials]”. Emails without proper salutation will not be read. Editor of the section: Tammy Lai-Ming Ho.
Poets and translators whose work is accepted will be notified. If you do not receive a response within 𝐎𝐍𝐄 𝐖𝐄𝐄𝐊, please consider your submission unsuccessful. You are welcome to submit additional work once this period has passed.
