
𝑪𝑨𝑳𝑳 𝑭𝑶𝑹 𝑷𝑶𝑬𝑴𝑺—Hong Kong’s 聲韻詩刊 Voice & Verse Poetry Magazine invites submissions of previously unpublished poems in English and poems newly translated from other languages into English exploring “Apocalypse” in its 𝐆𝐋𝐎𝐁𝐀𝐋, 𝐂𝐎𝐋𝐋𝐄𝐂𝐓𝐈𝐕𝐄 𝐃𝐈𝐌𝐄𝐍𝐒𝐈𝐎𝐍𝐒. We seek works that reflect on world-ending and world-remaking 𝗕𝗘𝗬𝗢𝗡𝗗 𝗧𝗛𝗘 𝗣𝗘𝗥𝗦𝗢𝗡𝗔𝗟: visions of planetary, ecological, or civilisational transformation that 𝗦𝗣𝗘𝗔𝗞 𝗧𝗢 𝗢𝗨𝗥 𝗦𝗛𝗔𝗥𝗘𝗗, 𝗣𝗥𝗘𝗖𝗔𝗥𝗜𝗢𝗨𝗦 𝗣𝗥𝗘𝗦𝗘𝗡𝗧. We are very keen to receive work from a wide range of geographical and cultural backgrounds. Accepted works will be included in a special feature in an upcoming issue of the magazine.
Please read our guidelines with great care. Submissions that do not observe these requirements will regrettably not be considered.
𝑆𝑢𝑏𝑚𝑖𝑠𝑠𝑖𝑜𝑛 𝐺𝑢𝑖𝑑𝑒𝑙𝑖𝑛𝑒𝑠:
𝗖𝗹𝗼𝘀𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗱𝗮𝘁𝗲: Monday 10 November 2025. Early submissions are preferred, as we may close the submission window once we have received a sufficient number of quality works.
𝗘𝗹𝗶𝗴𝗶𝗯𝗶𝗹𝗶𝘁𝘆: Previously unpublished poems written in English or newly translated into English.
𝗦𝘂𝗯𝗺𝗶𝘀𝘀𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗟𝗶𝗺𝗶𝘁: Up to two poems per poet/translator.
𝗙𝗼𝗿𝗺𝗮𝘁: Please send your poems as Word documents (no PDFs).
𝗛𝗼𝘄 𝘁𝗼 𝗦𝘂𝗯𝗺𝗶𝘁: Email your submissions to swpoetry@gmail.com with the subject line “VV: Apocalypse: [Your Initials]”. Emails without proper salutation will not be read. Editor of the section: Tammy Lai-Ming Ho.
Poets and translators whose work is accepted will be notified. If you do not receive a response within 𝐎𝐍𝐄 𝐖𝐄𝐄𝐊, please consider your submission unsuccessful. You are welcome to submit additional work once this period has passed.
