Call for Poems — “Departures”

What do “departures” mean to you?

In Issue 68, we will publish an English-language section on “Departures”. We encourage poets from all over the world to interpret this theme broadly.

Previously unpublished poems written in English or newly translated into English on “Departures” can be sent to swpoetry@gmail.com before Friday 8 July 2022 with the subject line “VV: Departures: [your initials]” for consideration. Each poet can submit up to two poems (please do not send us PDFs). Editor of the section: Tammy Lai-Ming Ho.

Only poets whose work is accepted will be notified. If you do not hear a response within two weeks, please assume that your work has not been selected for publication.

Voice & Verse Poetry Magazine (聲韻詩刊) is a Hong Kong-based print bilingual (Chinese and English) poetry publication distributed by The Chinese University of Hong Kong Press. We have previously published English-language sections on, among other topics, “Food”, “Ecopoetry”, “Estrangement”, “Emergency”, “Bullet”, “Virus”, “Masks”, “Home”, “Distance”, “Other”, “Mirror”, “Boar”, “Wall”, and most recently, “Cruel Spring”.

Our motto: “From Hong Kong to the World.”
